Australian startup Full Profile headed to NYC to present at leading FinTech conference on potential for blockchain in agriculture.
Full Profile, leading developer of agri-blockchains and smart contracts, is set to put Australian innovation on a global stage when CEO Emma Weston gives a live demo of their AgriDigital platform at FinovateFall 2016 in New York City on Friday morning AEST.
AgriDigital helps growers get paid immediately, solving the acknowledged industry problem and de-risking financing for buyers and banks.
“We are thrilled to launch our AgriDigital brand and kick off the first-ever, live in-market pilot of blockchain in agriculture. As an agribusiness focused fintech startup, we believe FinovateFall is a fantastic forum to highlight the significant opportunities for blockchains and smart contracts in physical commodities,” said CEO Emma Weston.
Finovate is a global fintech conference series that showcases the latest and greatest fintech startups to an audience of over 1,500 bankers, investors, and entrepreneurs. Each company is given seven minutes for a live demonstration- no slides allowed. Senior Event Director, Greg Palmer said:
“Full Profile will be the first company we’ve had on our stage that is using blockchain in physical commodities and we especially appreciate hearing solutions to entrenched problems at Finovate. We look forward to seeing Full Profile demonstrate how their technology will bring trust, transparency, and efficiency to agriculture.”
The Full Profile team is in New York City after winning Westpac Bank’s BlockHack16, a 2-day blockchain focused hackathon held in May in Sydney. After competing against 120 people across 13 teams, Full Profile was chosen by a panel of industry leading Judges as the idea most likely to succeed. In June, Full Profile went onto to pitch and win at the 2016 BlockChain Summit.
CEO Emma Weston takes the stage at Finovate on Friday morning US time, which is approximately midnight on Friday in Australia. A video of Emma’s pitch will be available shortly after the event; in the meantime, you can see Emma’s last rehearsal at https://youtu.be/RVoPsTQAPgs.
